Why do guys play girls?

I dont get it.. i know this one guy who just chooses to get with me randomly but i dont care because i have no emotional attachment.. but why doesn't he just choose a girl and stop sleeping around. and if he's messing with other girls how do i know hes not going around denying us and saying it was one time or something? is having a call/fwb that bad?
